THE EXHIBITION PROJECT

The Exhibition Project

13th March 2025 – The Night Owl, Digbeth, Birmingham

Curated and created by vocalist and composer Grace Conner, The Exhibition Project was a unique one-night-only networking event that brought together creatives from all mediums to celebrate the intersection of music, art, and poetry.

Held at the iconic Night Owl in Digbeth, Birmingham, the evening opened with a captivating support set by the Giulia Marro Quartet, setting the tone for a night of rich artistic dialogue and immersive performance.

Headlining the event was The Exhibition Band, led by Conner herself, whose set wove together original compositions inspired by visual art and literature. Drawing from the emotive works of artists and poets such as Frida Kahlo and John Donne, the band delivered a powerful exploration of how different mediums can inform and elevate one another.

A highlight of the night was Grace Conner’s collaboration with four local creatives, resulting in four brand-new songs directly inspired by their submitted artwork and poetry. These pieces were performed live for the first time, offering a deeply personal and local dimension to the evening’s program.

The Exhibition Project was more than a concert — it was a living gallery, a sonic poem, and a creative meeting ground designed to celebrate collaboration and inspire future connections across disciplines.
